Assembly Testing
Inspection and testing help verify assembly quality before shipment. Test coverage is agreed in the quote: what is inspected, what is measured, what is powered up. Test records are provided as agreed in the quotation.
| Parameter | Scope |
|---|---|
| Visual | AOI on assembled sides when selected on the RFQ, plus manual inspection at first article |
| X-ray | 2D X-ray for BGA, QFN and LGA voiding and bridging |
| Electrical | Flying probe or bed-of-nails ICT against netlist or ICT program |
| Functional | FCT to your test plan; jig supplied by you or built to quote |
| Environmental | Burn-in and temperature soak on review; duration set by your plan |
| Programming | In-circuit firmware loading, subject to engineering review |
| Records | Test reports for the tests on your quote, provided as agreed in the quotation |
Placement, polarity and solder shape defects. It is the first test to add on most surface-mount builds.
Shorts, opens and wrong values across the board. Worth it once volume or net count makes visual checking unreliable.
Whether the board does its job powered up. It needs your test plan or jig, and the results show whether the board meets the agreed requirements.
Test steps, test points, and pass/fail criteria. Engineering will confirm whether further details are needed.
Required for flying probe and ICT program generation; exported straight from your CAD tool.
Binary with version and load procedure, and the jig if one already exists in your lab.
Send your test plan or tell us the risk you care about; the quote states the coverage and the records you receive.
